Hibbing Brewing History

So Close... Yet So Far.

According to “Land of Amber Waters” author Doug Hoverson, Hibbing almost had a brewery in the early 1900s. In a 1905 issue of “Brewers’ Journal” Ely’s P.R. Vail announced that he would build a brewery in Hibbing. For whatever reason, that decision was reversed and Vail built a brewery in Virginia, instead. Hibbing would have to wait another 100+ years to get its own brewery.

Great new addition to downtown Hibbing. Brewery is awesome new tables, booths and atmosphere. Happy Hour from 3-6pm 2 for 1 on drinks. I’ve had Pork Po Boy sandwich and salmon diner meal both were very tasty.

Finally! A brewery on the iron range! We have been waiting and are NOT disappointed! Erik and Jess have transformed the old iconic Zimmy's into the new Boomtown Brewery. It has the big city look with the small town service. We sampled the blonde ale, pale ale, IPA, wheat, and a porter; they were all fantastic. The menu looks awesome; beer can chicken, roasted red pepper shrimp, and the smoked beef brisket are sure to be favorites! Everyone needs to check out this new brewery!!!
